Online education is on the rise. Some of the more obvious reasons include: Online education is typically less expensive, online education is convenient and accommodating, and online education often allows for a more personalized course schedule. Some traditional universities are expecting major increases in enrollment in online courses because of the rising gas prices.
Online degrees are now being offered at all levels, including bachelor degrees , graduate online degrees, and PhD level degrees.
The growth of the online education industry has also led to a darker truth. “Diploma Mills” (schools which do not have the proper licenses and accreditation) are also growing. Be sure to consult the U.S. Department of Education before enrolling in an online institution.
