With the recent box office success of the “Hulk” we are left to wonder how much of it is physically possible. Let’s start with the issue of his pants.
The Hulk’s pants tear, but never fully rip despite the fact that he enlarges to over 8 feet tall and 2,000 pounds. The original story of the Hulk, by Marvel Comics, claimed that his pants were composed of unstable molecules. The unstable molecules allow the pants to expand as the Hulk grows and contract as he returns to Bruce Banner size. In reality, these types of unstable molecules do exist, but could probably not hold together in the form of pants. Apparently, Marvel inserted magic stitches.

I believe that the Hulks pants are made of elastic. Possibly even spandex. I know I know, everyone says they look like jean shorts and jean shorts are so 2002. But get this…Ferragamo has just released his summer line and he created something similar, elastic shorts of a blue jean color! Hulk Hogan wore spandex and did leg drops.
